Inventory Adjustment Profile

This section is the Inventory Adjustment Profile. This form contains the fields for creating an Inventory Adjustment record.

Overview: Project Profile states information about the project. such as,

  • IA number – system generated inventory adjustment record number
  • Date – record or count date
  • Manual doc. no – matching reconciliation record numbers
  • Warehouse – storage of materials involve
  • IA status – current state of record; can be: for checking, cancelled, for posting or posted.
  • Remarks – additional comments
  • Item Name – item for recounting and adjustment
  • Item Class – storing classification of item for adjustment
  • Qty – quantity to add or subtract for each item in the list

Important notes:

The main purpose of inventory adjustment is to instantly keep web system inventory accurate with actual warehouse count regardless of systematic in and out recording. Just see to it that temporary item transfer (items that are temporarily borrowed from different item class due to reasonable concerns) has been considered first.

Another example could be when accounting department audits and request for inventory reconciliation with list of affected items, this will necessitate operations to adjust system inventory base on previously posted count using inventory adjustment upon finalization of reconciliation report to match accounting record.

Other reasons for adjusting inventory should be consulted to accounting, operations and warehouse management head prior to creating and posting inventory adjustments.
